Key Highlights / Scope of Work

Cox Mechanical partnered on the new Rentschler Building, which involved a cGMP-compliant building addition, along with upgrades to the existing facility. Cox’s Duct and Pipe Teams successfully rigged and installed ductwork and piping for a wide range of HVAC equipment, including; (3) Chillers, (14) Air Handling Units (AHUs), (2) Energy AHUs (EAHUs), (2) Rooftop Units (RTUs), (2) Make-Up Air Units (MAUs), (2) Exhaust Fans, (4) Boilers, (12) Humidifiers, (10) Pumps, (2) Buffer Tanks, (5) CRAC Units, (210) HEPA Filters, and (44) Lab Valves.

Challenges Faced

Cox demolished and removed two boilers in the existing boiler room and installed two new boilers while keeping hot water continuously online. Cox rigged, installed, and connected duct and pipe to five AHU’s in the existing mezzanine.

Cox had to rig units into the existing building in sections to be set in place in the mechanical room as there was no access other than a louver opening.
