Cox Mechanical delivered demolition and tenant fit-out services across six floors in the Seaport District for Fidelity Investments. The project featured all-new flat ductwork installed in an open ceiling layout, CRAC units, and bypass pumps for existing AHUs. Additionally, a new generator was installed in the penthouse and fully integrated with the existing control systems.
Challenges Faced
To maintain operation of the existing generators, Cox coordinated 8-hour shutdowns. Installing the new generator required the addition of a new storage tank and a 3,000-gallon day tank.
Solutions and Innovations
To meet an aggressive project timeline, Cox Mechanical strategically prepurchased and prefabricated materials. This approach enabled streamlined installation and ensured all systems were properly integrated, tested, and fully operational per design specifications.
Results / Outcomes
The Fidelity West job was successfully completed in June of 2024 on time and within budget.
